It's officially August and this month I plan to feature nursing mamas in McAllen, Texas! Why? Because World Breastfeeding week is upon us (Aug 1-7th, 2018.)
This week is meant to educate communities on the importance of breastfeeding both for maternal and infant health. Now that doesn't mean that if you aren't breastfeeding you can't participate. Heck yes, you can! Mamas all over the world need your support and encouragement whether they nurse their baby for days, months, or years.
As a McAllen Motherhood Photographer, I find it to be so important to highlight our local mamas who are currently nursing their babies both at home and in public. We need to continue to normalize breastfeeding and I'm happy to do my part as a visual storyteller.

¡Es oficialmente Agosto y este mes planeo ofrecer mamás que estan amamantando a sus bebés en McAllen, Texas! ¿Por qué? Porque la Semana Mundial de la Lactancia Materna está aqui (del 1 al 7 de Agosto de 2018!)
Esta semana tiene como objetivo educar a las comunidades sobre la importancia de la lactancia materna tanto para la salud materna como infantil. Ahora eso no significa que si no está amamantando no puede participar. Claro que sí puedes! Las madres de todo el mundo necesitan tu apoyo y aliento.
Como fotógrafa de maternidad, me parece muy importante resaltar a nuestras madres locales que actualmente están amamantando a sus bebés tanto en casa como en público. Necesitamos continuar normalizando la lactancia materna y estoy feliz de hacer mi parte como narradora visual.
