Birth Story: Baby Leo

I met this sweet mama one Friday morning and we got a chance to sit down and sip on some coffee. We chatted about her upcoming birth and the possibility of having me document her birth if her photographer happened to be out of town.

I absolutely love how intuitive we are as moms. She had this plan and wanted to be sure her sweet Leo's birth was captured. I almost wasn't fazed by the fact that her sweet boy arrived that very week mama expected him to be here!

It was Saturday morning and I was gearing up for an afternoon family session when I got the text about contractions starting up. I was mentally getting ready for a night of birth photography but little Leo had other plans!

I made my way to Holy Family Birth Center to capture the birth of sweet Baby Leo. Watching this couple work through every contraction together was inspiring. Both their doula (Sofia at Intricately Woven Birth Services) & midwife provided reassurance as mom rode each wave of contractions. She showed so much strength through every single surge. I'm always captivated by the love that is displayed through the laboring process. Every encouraging word, every prayer, every reassuring touch... these little moments which are sometimes lost in the wind remain in photographs.

At 8:40pm, Baby Leo made his debut en caul. What an incredible birth it was! Congratulations B Family! I'm every so thankful to have been present for such a memorable moment.
